Here’s the inspiration for the bathroom. We’ve already got the subway tiles, ‘penny’ tiles, pedestal sink, and vintage faucet . I was hoping for a more classic penny tile, but my landlord is the one paying for the renovation so she gets the final say. I also really wanted to go with brushed gold fixtures for the sink and bathtub, for now I  just have to day dream about all the beautiful ones which you can see   . I like adding  natural pieces like the old wooden ladder, natural sea sponge, and black slate tray  to our very traditional & classic design.

For the most part the new addition is getting more a face lift, but the bathroom…oh the bathroom,  has turned out to be quite the project.   Everything is getting gutted, we’re putting in new walls, new floor boards, new flooring, new pipes etc.

Here’s the before Before_bathroomHere it is part way through the demolition process. We’re replacing the shower with an old cast iron bath tub, putting in a pedestal sink, tiling the floor, and adding a medicine cabinet.bathroomI’ve been learning a lot through this renovation, including how to cut and lay tile!  Its such a satisfying task, I was walking all around my house trying to figure out what else I could tile! neustadt_tiling
